Ted Odonnell is a design house working across light, objects and sound.

It began with light. Years as a photographer, shaping it to tell stories for Chanel, Dior, Tiffany and Paspaley. Having reached the top of that field, curiosity turned toward more tangible material, and toward the traditional philosophies of Japanese woodworking, where material, craft and maker are held in careful relation. Years of study in sashimono, hand-cut dovetails and interlocking joints revealed woodworking as another form of visual and tactile storytelling.

From this grew the objects. Pieces where material, proportion, function and light come together as they had in the photographs. Each range takes a single rare material as its starting point, sought out in person, at the source. The first is Hinoki 01, made from Yoshino Hinoki from Nara Prefecture, and made by hand in Sydney.

And then sound. Rooms, shows and compositions designed to be felt rather than heard.
